Humphrey Otieno Oduor is a seasoned Sociologist, Urban Policy Advocate, and Community Development Strategist with over 18 years of experience in urban planning, governance, and inclusive development. He currently serves as the Kenya Country Coordinator at Africa Urban Lab (AUL), where he coordinates the Urban Expansion and Periphery Program (UXP) a program targeting counties to promote structured, equitable urban growth.

In parallel, he is a Business Development Consultant at Untis Timetable Limited, supporting digital transformation in education systems across Kenya. Humphrey also works closely with the Nairobi City County Government & UN-Habitat as part of the Safer Nairobi Initiative, focusing on urban safety, youth inclusion, and public space activation.

In 2022, he partnered with UN-Habitat and the Mixed Migration Centre (MMC) to mobilize stakeholders for the 4Mi Cities initiative in Nairobi 238_Nairobi_City_Report (2).pdf, which informed the Lead Rebuild Program Welcome to Re:BUiLD | Boosting Urban Innovations for Livelihoods Development implemented by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and 2023 lead coordinator in the City of Choice Project Safer Nairobi Initiative by Nairobi City County to support displaced populations in urban settings.

A strong advocate for pro-poor urban transformation, Humphrey has led initiatives such as Nairobi’s first Car-Free Day, Placemaking Week Kenya, and the National Youth Crime Prevention Week, bridging community organizing with urban innovation. His expertise spans urban governance, spatial equity, policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and displacement-sensitive urban programming.

At Kenya Urban Forum 2025, Humphrey contributes to the conversation on Inclusive Urbanization in the Wake of Forced Displacement, drawing from real-time county engagements, field research, and global best practices to propose scalable models for urban integration.
