Dr. Walter Alando is a spatial planning researcher and practitioner. His professional practice focuses on spatial development research, spatial governance, spatial development planning, climate change resilience planning, and GIS.
He has consulted for International Governmental Organisations such as the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the Government of Kenya, several municipalities in Kenya and the East African region, various county governments, private-sector organisations, and Non-Governmental Organisations.
Dr. Alando is a corporate member of the Kenya Institute of Planners, and a lead member of the Environment Institute of Kenya. He holds an undergraduate degree in Urban and Regional Planning, MSc in Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation, a PhD in Transport & Traffic Planning, and an MA in Project Planning and Management.
