Clementina Asiago
Settlements Planning Department - Slum Dwellers International (SDI) Kenya

Clementina Asiago Ayon is a passionate and multitalented creative dedicated to advocacy, social justice, and inclusive urban development. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Urban Design and Development and a Postgraduate Diploma in Urban Development.

Clementina has been recognized for her innovative approach to urban challenges, winning awards in the eKaterra Model Village Competition by Core Nexus, the Urban Change Makers Exhibition by the LDE Research Network, and the Bus Shelter Design Competition organized by the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) in collaboration with the Kenya Urban Roads Authority.

Her commitment to advancing housing discourse is evident through her contributions to the Center for Affordable Housing Finance in Africa Yearbook for two consecutive years (14th Edition-2023 & 15th Edition-2024), where she has provided insights on the housing landscape across African countries.

She is a member of the Kenya Institute of Planners (KIP) and the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) – Town Planners Chapter, as well as Women in Real Estate (WIRE), where she served on the 2023 Youth Board championing youth engagement in urban policy and planning.
Currently, Clementina works with Slum Dwellers International (SDI) Kenya in the City and Settlements Planning Department, supporting community-led processes to shape the housing agenda in informal settlements.

A dedicated youth mentor, Clementina lives by the principle: "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it diligently."
