The Kenya Urban Forum 2023

The State Department for Housing and Urban Development is planning to host the First Kenya Urban Forum around May 2023. The Forum will be organized as the most open and inclusive gathering that brings together urban stakeholders to share a common urban development vision that addresses the challenges facing cities, municipalities, and towns. and market centers in Kenya. The Forum will provide a high-level platform for raising awareness of sustainable urbanization among stakeholders and constituencies, including the general public.

It will focus on improving collective knowledge of sustainable urban development through inclusive open debates, sharing lessons learned, and the exchange of best practices and policies. This will be the first time that the KUF, will be convened and held by Kenya.

The Forum is organized by the State Department for Housing and Urban Development in the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development in collaboration with the World Bank, United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), National Land Commission, Council of Governors of Kenya (CoG) and the Kenya Institute of Planners (KIP).

The purpose of this letter is therefore to invite you to the Kenya Urban Forum 2023. KUF will be a premier national conference on sustainable urbanization in Kenya and the East African Region whose tagline is “The Future is Urban” and the theme is “Strategic Pathways to Inclusive and Sustainable Urbanization in Kenya.” The conference activities include caucus meetings, exhibitions, city tours, and side events. The fees are 10000 for delegates, and 50, 000 for exhibitions inclusive of meals. However, attendees are advised to organize accommodation prior to their arrival.
